What You Need To Know About Driving License Theory

The theory test for driver's license is usually taken by new learner drivers before they get the driving license. It is also taken by experienced drivers who want to renew their license. To pass the driving test, a candidate must answer correctly at least 50% of the questions. Candidate shall fill up the application form appropriately and submit it along with the necessary documents. After receiving confirmation of the application, the candidate should wait for further confirmation from the concerned authority of issuing the driving license.

Once the application has been approved, the candidate shall receive a confirmation notice. Within a short duration, the candidate shall receive a driving license theory exam card. On successful completion of the theory test, a candidate shall receive a certificate which shows that he/she has passed the theory test. The certificate is valid for a certain period of time and needs to be renewed every year. Renewal process is simple and easy, as there are no demerits involved.

To get a driving license, candidates may take the road test or receive the driving license theory from any of the driving schools. The license obtained from any of the driving schools has a valid period of validity and is honored across all other driving schools. To check the validity of the license, the candidate can contact the Department of Public Safety or DPS. Candidates who fail to clear this exam within the prescribed time will have to undergo another one. If the new set of test is not cleared, the driving license stays invalid and cannot be renewed. The driving test or the theory exam is made possible by the Department of Public Safety or DPS who regulates all driving schools operating in the state. All driving schools must abide by the stipulated regulations framed by DPS. It is important to note that to pass the driving license theory test, a driver candidate must be physically fit. Any physical condition that impairs driving ability should be evaluated and analyzed prior to the taking the exam. Not doing so would result in the candidate being disqualified from passing the exam. The driving license theory test should only be taken when the applicant has attained eighteen years of age.
